Endorsement
GLP invites research projects, individuals (PhD projects) and events such as meetings/conferences or educational activities (such as PhD courses) worldwide to join the GLP community through the process and status of endorsement.
The overarching criteria for endorsement are:
- Scientific excellence
- Contributions to the goals of the GLP project and the themes of the science plan
A successful application gains access to the GLP network (including various international and regional workshops) and associated opportunities for publications. There is also the possibility to share data among the members of the GLP network facilitated by the International Project Office (IPO). While the IGBP and IHDP do not fund research per se, GLP endorsement may assist individual projects in their search for funding.
Applicants must be contributing to the GLP research effort as defined in the GLP Science Plan (IGBP Report no.53/IHDP Report no.19). Endorsement also obliges the applicant to mention GLP in publications and presentations of endorsed research and to inform the IPO of the GLP on such activities and publications.
Please download the application guidelines for
GLP endorsement. We aim for the reviewing process not to take longer than one month.

If you are conducting research in one of the topic areas detailed in the GLP science plan, we invite you to become part of the GLP-community. You can either seek endorsement for your project or activity, and/or register in our database and you will then receive our newsletter and occasionally be informed on new developments, upcoming events etc.
